EFM is in full operation Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Following campus guidelines with COVID-19, EFM staff are currently working remotely and can be reached by email or phone. EFM is closely monitoring guidelines from sponsors and other resources and frequently updating information on the COVID-19 Guidance to provide campus with the most current information related to the impact of COVID-19 on the financial management of sponsored research projects.

Extramural Fund Management (EFM) provides financial management support of sponsored project funds for the UCLA research community. This includes: financial reporting, invoicing, cash management, accounts receivable management, financial compliance oversight (effort reporting, cost transfers, unallowable expenses), and audit support. Statistics for Fiscal Year ended June 30, 2021

Statistics for fiscal year 2020-2021 relating to research expenditures, financial deliverables, and payments collected for sponsored projects are as follows:
Total research expenditures incurred for sponsored projects were $1.21 billion. 63.9% of total expenditures were for Federally sponsored projects, followed by State & Other Government projects at 11.0%.

Financial Deliverables represent invoices and financial reports of which EFM satisfied a total of 15,418. EFM collected $1.175 billion in payments from sponsors. 10,792 payments were received in the form of checks, wire, ACH, EFTs draws for LOC funds.
